Having not had the opportunity to photograph in a while it was decided to plan a trip to Heathrow.
Ginge and I decided to make the most of our day by also visiting the Heathrow Aircraft Enthusiasts Fair being held at Kempton Park Racecource.
Despite the weather being dry the number of decent images taken could be counted on one hand.

What a day at the Cambrian Café Bar
On what turned out to be a very cold and overcast day a visit to the Cambrian Café Bar turned out to be much better than could imagine.
Many were awaiting the visit of the first ever Norwegian Air Shuttle Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner which was scheduled for maintenance at British Airways Maintenance Cardiff (BAMC).
On arrival we could see an orange tail of an EasyJet Airbus A319 which was joined shortly by a further two that had diverted due to fog at Bristol Airport.
This wasn't it and also photographed Cessna 525 CitationJet CJ1 and a British Airways Boeing 747-400.
Due to this there will be two pics of the day.

Afternoon spent at the Cambrian Café Bar, Cardiff Airport with AutoAvia
A planned afternoon spent at the Cambrian Café Bar, Cardiff Airport with AutoAvia for a catch-up and some photography.
The weather didn't look too bad however there was a chilly wind making sitting on the balcony a no go.
It was a quiet day in all however a unexpected visit of a Thomas Cook Airlines Airbus A321, Royal Air Force Globemaster C.1 and the Army Air Corps Islander CC.2 performing enginer runs kept us on our toes.
DragonFly Aviation Services Beech 200 Super King Air had also been active performing some local training.

A day of two halves
When I woke up in the morning morning the weather was miserable and not ideal for taking photo's at all.
I decided regardless to head to the the Cambrian Café Bar, Cardiff Airport in hope that I may get a decent shot or two.
After some poor quality photographs in the morning by 1pm the weather had vastly improved and managed to catch the British Airways Boeing 777-300 ariving from Heathrow and Eastern Airways Saab 2000.
Next visit will be Tuesday

Glorious day at Cardiff Airport
AutoAvia Photographic and I had arranged for a day of photography at Cardiff Airport making most of the busiest day of the week and the glorious sunshine.
It was nice to see the Cardiff Airport GA apron almost empty as aircraft departed making the most of the perfect flying conditions.
It was a shame however that there was only one visiting light aircraft during our visit.
Despite the heat distortion making it a bit difficult for high quality images it was certainly a good four hours.

A couple of hours at St Athan
With a gap in commercial aircraft at Cardiff Airport it was a huge waste to miss a full day of photography so it was decided to swing by St Athan on the way home.
What we thought may have been an hour turned out to be several as the temporary Royal Air Force Hawk T.2's were extremely active. We managed to get over six in total with many performing training circuits on their return to base.
It was a first to see two of the UK Search & Rescue departing simultaneously as the AgustaWestland AW189 performed training as the AW139 was scrambled to an incident.

After being undecided on where to go for a couple of hours today the destination of choice was Cardiff Airport.
Three and a half hours spent at the Cambrian Café Bar, Cardiff Airport. With a nice spot of dinner and Royal Air Force visitors turned out to be a good day.
Two Hawk T.2's performing a fly-past, A400M go-round and a landing by the Tucano T.1. There was also a visit by a Staverton Flying School Cessna F152.
